[Review] L'Oreal's Colour Riche Balm in Caring Coral (418)

 Good Afternoon Everyone!

I know I've been away from the blog a while, summer's starting to get busier for me as I'm starting full-time work next week. I am going to try to keep up with the blog as much as possible though :) For now, lets head on to the review!

This Past Week...

Foster the People at Downsview Park ♥

Hey Everyone!

I apologize for not posting at all last week. It was super busy and I didn't have a chance to update the blog :( However I am back and the blog will resume it's usual posts starting tomorrow!

Being busy also means that I didn't have a chance to go online much, so there really haven't been too many links that caught my eye this past week (as I barely used the computer).

How has your week been?

New reviews will be up soon!

,
Christina

PS I bought the new Maybelline BB cream and so far I LOVE it! It's perfect for summer because it has SPF 30, I wore it to Wonderland on Friday and didn't get burnt at all. There will be a review on it after I use it for another week :)

Neutrogena's 60th Anniversary Sample Box

Hi Everyone! :)

A few days ago I received a package in the mail from Neutrogena Canada. Last month they were giving out packages with 5 samples/coupons in them in celebration of their 60th anniversary in Canada. You were able to choose which samples/coupons you wanted from a list. The package came in a cute little box filled with your samples. Thanks Neutrogena!

Beach Essentials

Good Afternoon! :)

Summer is here! It's hot, humid, and perfect for the beach! Here are some beach essentials that everyone should have before basking themselves under the sun on the sand.

From Left to Right:

1. Balea's Sunless Tan Clear Gel ($7, Shopper's Drug Mart) - this is for pre-beach prep!

2. Bikini Set ($10 / piece, Aeropostale)

3. Sunglasses ($7-$8, H&M)

4. Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Sunscreen SPF 55 ($16, Well.ca)

The only thing I forgot to add in this picture is water! It's very important to keep yourself hydrated at all times, especially if you're under the hot sun and sweating throughout the day.

I'm going to Canada's Wonderland's water park in two weeks! I'm so excited because I haven't been in there for ages! It's going to be fun!

Are you hitting the beach anytime soon? What are some of your beach essentials?

Here are some ones that I've been thinking about trying: [Simple and Modern] [Pretty Country] [Delicate and Feminine] There's also a whole lot of place-mat ideas on various yarn websites. I headed out to buy some yarn today to start making them, can't wait to show you guys which one I decided on!

} This is finally a week that I'm able to catch up on the issues of The Kit, a free online magazine that has a huge focus on hair and beauty.
} How Do I Put This Gently? is one of my new favorite Tumblr blogs. So many of her posts relate to my life hahaha.

} Growing out your hair? Try these tips from Beauty Bets!

} I love Sweet Paul's blog and amazing photography skills with food. They'll be releasing a new desktop wallpaper weekly and I'm super excited!

Tonight I will be DIY-ing my own mask with inspiration from [this] Yves Rocher Mask with Lemon Zest.

I'll be mixing some leftover lemon zest from the lemon poppy seed loaf recipe, witch hazel, and lemon. I'll tell you how it goes! :)

Saturday Adventures - June 2

A great day starts off with a great breakfast! Coffee, a sliced avacado, an over-hard egg topped with some black pepper, and a piece of toast with some organic almond butter. Best breakfast I've had for a while!
Hi readers!

Saturdays will officially be my days off from make-up talk and write a little about what my own Saturdays are like (they're usually pretty simple). I think that this will be a great way for you guys to know a bit about me, and what I'm like. Your comments will be so fantastic on these posts because I would also love to hear what your week or weekend was like too!

Now onto the post!

[Review] Garnier’s Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream in Medium/Dark

Hi Everyone!

So glad to be back and blogging!

Garnier's BB cream review is a great kick-off as the first summer post. Since BB creams are the new "it" product in the beauty world, I hope this post will answer some questions and help you make a decision as to whether this BB cream, or BB creams in general, are the right for you!

Delicious Looking Macarons in Fresh Summer Shades (image: http://twospoons.wordpress.com/)

Good afternoon everyone!

It's finally June and I am officially back to blogging because my courses were all officially completed yesterday. I'm so excited to get back to blogging!

A long promised review of Garnier's BB cream will be up TODAY (I promise!) and there will also be lots more to come! (Philosophy's Purity Made Simple Cleanser, etc.)

I've also ordered new products and obviously tried out a ton of new products too, so there will be lots for me to review.

This is going to be an exciting, post-filled, and fun summer!

Return of the Blogger

Gorgeous Spring Blossoms ♥ [Source: http://www.redbubble.com]
Hi Everyone!

It's been a while since my last post (again). I've been bombarded with school work and activities that I didn't have time to update. I apologize for being away for so long, however this allowed me to test out a few new skincare products (such as the new Garnier BB cream) for a while!

As you can see, there is a new layout and title for the blog. This is because I believe that spring has finally arrived and has decided to stay this time. We've had gorgeous weather here in Kingston for the past few days and I love it!

Anyhoo, the Garnier BB cream review will be up shortly. I have to edit the post first!

Hope this week has been a good one for you so far! It's Friday tomorrow! :)

[Review] Polysporin's Lip Therapy

Hi Everyone!

How is your day so far? Last week I was super busy because I returned to Kingston and had to catch up with some work and spend time with my boyfriend, so I didn't do a lot of updating.

However, I am back! Now onto the review!

[DIY] Crayon Hearts ♥

Good Evening!

Today I had the busiest day ever! In fact this week has been pretty busy, so that's why I haven't posted up anything new yet :(. I have lots of reviews waiting to be edited so that I can post them up, so watch out for those soon! I also really wanted to do a Valentine's Day post, but I had a huge mid-term today and wasn't able to post up anything for the week, so I apologize for that. I'm working on some St.Patrick's Day stuff though, so lots of fun posts to come :)

Valentine Hello Kitty and the Puppy I got for Valentine's Day from my boyfriend ♥

I had an absolutely amazing Valentine's Day though, it was so lovely and I had so much fun! For my housemates (I have 3), I made some Crayon Hearts from a link to a tutorial that I posted up before by Whipper Berry. They turned out beautifully, and can really be made into any shape as long as you have the baking mold for it! *hinthint!* (Easter!)

Here's a summary of the steps for those who don't have crayons lying around the house: (and some tips!)...

[Review] fresh's Sugar Kisses Mini Lip Duo

Good Evening Everyone! :)

Like I guessed, I was not able to post yesterday. Although I did have a great 3rd month dinner with my boyfriend and it was so great seeing him again. He even showed up at my bus stop with roses when he came to pick me up, which was so wonderful of him and they are lovely ♥. Before I left to come back to Kingston though, I made a small trip to Scarborough Town Center's Sephora to pick up my Beauty Insider birthday present!

Last year they gave out a mini version of Philosophy's Vanilla Birthday Cake shower gel. This year they're giving out mini versions of fresh's Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment with SPF 15 and Sugar Lip Treatment with SPF 15. These two are named...

Sugar Kisses Mini Lip Duo

The Packaging Box

Price: Free on/near your birthday at your nearest Sephora when you are a Beauty Insider (their rewards program)

If you were to buy these products at their full sizes, they would be $22.50 USD each.

Claims:
Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment - nourishes, softens, and protects lips with a hint of colour
Sugar Lip Treatment - provides moisture to lips

I have never purchased any of fresh's products before, although I have seen them at Sephora and have always wanted to try out their Sugar Lip Treatment. This gave me the opportunity to try it out and I am very impressed by the quality and the design of both of these products!

The Description of the Products on the Back Of The Box with the Two Products (they really are quite tiny!)

What I Love:
- Sweet, candy-like scent (similar to Skittles)
- Long lasting moisture - even enough for the harsh Canadian winter!
- Sugar Rose goes on with a light reddish tint, which would go well with any skin tone. This shade is casual enough for everyday use.
- You get a choice of applying with/without color because there are two!
- Cute, convenient packaging. Their twist open design is also genius! No more worrying about the cap falling off.

What I dislike: Nothing! I love these two products!

All-in-all: This is an amazing birthday gift that Sephora is giving out this year. Don't miss your chance to try out these two lip 'treatments' (I would call them more of a lip balm) when it's near your birthday! After trying these, I am considering to purchase the Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment because of the pretty, natural-looking tint it gives to my lips.

Left Product: Sugar Lip Treatment (no colour); Right Product: Sugar Rose Lip Treatment (Red Tint)

Price: 6/5 (because it was FREE!)
Packaging: 5/5
Moisturizing: 5/5
Grade: A+

How was your weekend everyone? I hope yours went as well as mine did! I spent today at my boyfriend's place watching movies and football. It was a really relaxing day before classes begin again tomorrow, which I guess I am looking forward to because that will give me something to do, versus sitting around all day (haha).

See you all soon!

♥,
Christina

Fabulous Friday!

Just chillin' at the dining table drinking some green tea and registering my Menchie's card

Hi Everyone!

It's the second time I'm back today because I'm not certain if I'm able to post tomorrow. So I will be posting some fun stuff for you all to take a look at for the weekend if you're feeling like you want to try something new!

♥ For Christmas, I made my friends a crocheted cup cozy. It was super easy and very customizable (you can sew on buttons, names, etc.) Seeing as how I never crocheted before, I needed an easy pattern to follow and found one on Ami's Crocheting Tumblr page.

♥ Got only a minute to spare? No worries, here's a website that generates your unicorn name! That's right. Unicorn. Mine is Poppy Blue Pony, who is quick-witted, bright as a spark, blue as the sky, brings the sunshine and chases away the clouds. I think that I would love myself as a pony!

♥ Today I tried out Nair's Au Naturel Milk and Honey Roll-On wax and I absolutely loved it! Mostly I loved the fact that it was WASHABLE and there was barely any mess (compared to my usual Parissa brand wax). A review will be up soon, but if you're looking for a wax, then I would highly suggest this one! (There's also a coupon on their website if you want to print one off and get one for a cheaper price :)!)

♥ Class is starting soon for me, so that means I won't have the time to spend more than 5 minutes on my makeup. I'm planning to try this simple Burberry make-up look (with dupes) for the rest of the school year!

♥ Song of the moment: It just makes me want to dance around the house (and go clubbing!)

♥ Are you working out this weekend? Was going to the gym a part of your new year's resolution? Here's an easy, no-equipment-required workout for you to try if you have no idea where to start or if you want to switch it up a bit!

I leave you all with a picture of Mozart looking to see if there's food in his bowl for dinner because I'm going to go make some dinner now too.

"Where's my dinner?"

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

[Review] St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Cleanser

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Here is the first review of the new year! Here we go...
St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Cleanser

St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Cleanser

Regular Price: Ranges from $5 - $10 depending on where you go

Can be purchased at: Walmart and Shoppers Drug Mart

Claims: Clears breakouts and soothes

I love St.Ives because the company does not test their products on animals and they have a more ‘natural’ approach to producing their products. Their products are also easily accessible because they are in almost every local Walmart or Shoppers Drug Mart and they are priced so reasonably and even cheaper when they are on sale. Their apricot face scrub has been one of my favorites for a long time and I find this product to be even more effective when used with the scrub.

Clear, Green-ish Gel

What I love:
- 2% Salicylic Acid mixed in with the cleanser
- Helped clear up my skin (which was breaking out a lot when I got home for the holidays)
- Fresh, light scent
- Oil free, paraben free, and hypoallergenic
- Minimal lather
- Leaves my face feeling clean, but not dry
- The Pump, it keeps the cleanser from dripping everywhere

What I dislike:
- Although this product does help and prevent breakouts, I find that Vichy’s Normaderm Gel Cleanser to be more effective. Although one really can’t complain judging from the price!

All-in-all: This is a great St.Ives product! It does support its claims, and certainly does help with clearing up light acne. If you’re out looking for a new cleanser, then this would be a great one to consider if you’re on a budget

Price:  5/5
Packaging:  5/5
Effectiveness:  4/5
GRADE: A

I'm packing up right now because I'm going back to where I live for school tomorrow morning! Super excited to go back because tomorrow is also my boyfriend and I's 3rd month. Since we didn't get to celebrate Christmas and New Years together, we're going to celebrate it tomorrow.

Also, I'm really glad that I'm updating this blog and thus keeping to my resolution. This is so fun, and I already have some more posts that are waiting to be edited. So come back soon!

Hope that you all are enjoying the beginning of your weekend! What are some of your plans?

Happy 2012!

Hello Everyone!

I'm back, and am ringing in the new year with new posts, new reviews, and fun stuff!

So I'm going to kick off the first post of 2012 with one of the most adorable videos from last year. If you haven't seen this this will probably definitely make your day:

I really do apologize for not posting since the summer. I ended up working and then going back for my second year of university, which is a ton of fun, but also tremendously busy!

However, that doesn't mean I did not try out new products! Over these past months that I haven't posted, I tried out so many new stuff! So tons and tons of new reviews will be up soon.

Some upcoming product reviews will be:
- Philosophy's Purity Made Simple Cleanser
- St. Ives' Naturally Clear Green Tea Cleanser
- Vichy's Normaderm Deep Cleansing Gel Cleanser
- Dickenson's Cleansing Astringent Pore PerfectingToner
- Cetaphil's Moisturizing Lotion
- Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

- Urban Decay's Vegan Palette (no longer produced, but has some shades that are still continued)
- EOS' Smooth Sphere Lip Balm
- Maybelline's Great Lash Lots of Lashes Mascara

... and lots more! So if you've been wanting to try out a product, but didn't decide on whether you should buy it or not, why not wait for a review first?

I will also be whitening my teeth starting TODAY using Plus White's 5 Minute Whitening Gel system. Day by day pictures and updates will be up! Hopefully this can get my lightly stained teeth whiter in time for my birthday, which is next week!

Setting Sail for 2012!

Last year has come and passed. Phew, boy was that fast! Second semester of first year, summer, and the first semester of second year went by like a speeding bullet. I did have fun though, and learned not only academically, but in life aspects too. I hope that your year went as well as mine did!

As this is the new year, some resolutions of mine are to:
► Be more responsible.
► Pick something, and stick to it. I already chose mine and it's updating this blog! I love blogging, but I'm not very good at keeping a good posting interval, so I'm going to try extra hard to keep this blog updated!
► Stay healthy. Take my vitamins, eat well, and live happy :)

How was last year for you? What was something that went very well in 2011? What would you like to accomplish in 2012?

What a whirlwind of a post! Lots to come, so see you soon!

♥,
Christina
